Make Bedroom Spring Ready

Today at STYLEanthropy, I’m showing you ways on how to make your bedroom spring ready. I don’t know about you, but there’s something about a new season that makes me wanna change things up and freshen our home… be it as simple as new bed sheets or switching up the bedroom furniture. Coming from the gloomy winter season, I just get that itch to make things bright, light and happy, come Spring. So today, I’m sharing some ideas to help your bedroom look Spring-ready.

Make Your Bedroom an Extension of You

First off, no matter the season and no matter how you freshen up your bedroom, it should always be a reflection of you – your style, your personality. Just the other day, I was watching this interview of a designer, and she made great points on how a home tells her about a person. Before (think 80s to 90s), you can tell what a person is like with his or her choice of music and/or clothes. But these days, people listen to different music genres and wear different styles of clothing, depending on their mood. But when you step inside a person’s home, you’ll get a better understanding of what that person’s like.

Case in point, while I love to switch things up and freshen the look of our home on a regular basis, I always end up with the same aesthetic – glam style. No matter how I introduce other styles in our room, or our home in general, the overall feel will always be a glam look.

For example, the wood used in all the Bernhardt Auberge bedroom furniture set (above) has a rustic style to it, but the overall vibe of the bedroom is still glamorous.

And even if I try to completely switch things up, like add a ton of color via throw pillows and decor, I always go back to my white, black, gray/silver and gold color scheme. And that’s why I was really drawn to this Jet Set collection below. It’s very clean, classy, chic and elegant. The crisp white colors and powder blue walls make for a perfect spring bedroom.

Don’t be Afraid to Add Your Favorite Color

Don’t be afraid to add a touch of your favorite color to your room. Spring is about color. So not only will it make your bedroom spring ready, it will also add a personal touch to it. You don’t have to paint a wall or change up your bed in that color (but no one’s stopping you if you wish to do that). Little pops of your fave color here and there, like with an ottoman, accent pillow, or lamp will showcase your personality without overpowering the bedroom. Just take a look at the Marquesa bedroom set below. Looking at it immediately tells me this is a perfect bedroom for a glamorous woman who loves the color teal or turquoise. In fact, I know someone who will love this bedroom furniture set.

Declutter and Invest in Dressers

Make your bedroom spring ready with some spring cleaning. That means it’s time to declutter. Set aside a weekend to do this and really go through all the stuff you’ve collected over the last couple of months. If it’s broken and unrepairable, toss it. If you’ve never used it in the last 6 months but it’s still in great condition, sell or donate it. And if it’s a seasonal item that you’ll most likely use as the season changes, then keep it but set it aside in an organized way.

I highly recommend investing in dressers, shelving and nightstands with drawers for more storage space. This is especially helpful for a kid’s bedroom to help organize and hide all those toys. I’m especially loving this Birnalla furniture set from the Ashley Signature Design Furniture Collection. And as you can see, even if the bedroom furniture are all brown wood, the room still looks fresh, airy and Spring-ready. Thanks to no clutter, light floor and walls, and a cohesive theme and furniture.

Fresh Flowers Make a Difference

Finally, it’s not Spring without flowers blooming. So adding some fresh flowers will instantly add that Spring touch to your bedroom. In case you have allergies, floral prints in your bedding or even on a piece of art will also work as you can see in the Hooker Furniture Collection bedroom set below.

Looking for new bedroom furniture? Spring is also a great time to go “out with the old and in with the new“. BedroomFurnitureDiscounts.com is having a Spring sale. And it’s where you can find all of the bedroom sets I’ve featured above. Make sure to check it out if you’re on the hunt for a new bed, dresser or a whole bedroom set. Obviously, I’m in love with the Jet Set collection if you’re looking for recommendations. Happy Spring cleaning and decorating! Xo, C.

Love this! My bedroom is one of the few rooms left in the house that is unfinished and it’s my least favorite room right now! No bueno!

Any tips on what to do with lots of wall space over the bed in a room with HIGH ceilings? This room has me stumped.

I’m in love with that bedroom suite! I can’t wait for my kids to get older to do a makeover.
