Today at STYLEanthropy at Home, I’m sharing some updates on our living room. Actually, I’ve had these photos ready to share for a while now. But the thing is, I wasn’t really satisfied with how it looks. There are still some missing pieces. But hey, that’s why this is just a living room update, right?
Living Room Update
Since taking these photos, I’ve already changed some things and switched some pieces in our bedroom. Like I always say, I decorate our home almost every week! Haha. But I guess that happens when you’re not fully satisfied with the design. And so far, the last change I made in our place seems to be sticking for good. I haven’t changed it in a couple weeks. So let’s see if this one stays for good! But for now, here’s the previous change I made before what our living room currently looks like. It’s not that different, so I’ll tell you the mini tweaks I did along with the photos below.
I’ve since moved the bar cart on the window side, where the DIY ottoman is in the photo below since the plant needs sunlight. What has replaced the cart in that area is my current desk where I work at. We have a small apartment and I didn’t want to work in the bedroom. I want to save that space just for relaxing. The dark stained rattan storage ottoman has been moved to the bedroom. The DIY ottoman has replaced its space.

How sleek is this Minted art piece showing the NYC skyline? If you’ve been following me on my style blog, then you know I LOVE New York!!! So it was only fitting that I chose this print. It’s actually been moving back and forth from here to our bedroom. So we’ll see. Might need to pick another wall art piece from Minted for that part on top of the TV. I’m having a hard time choosing one because there are so many pretty pieces in there! Maybe I should just get this pineapple for the bedroom instead. Hah! Or maybe it’s time for a gallery wall? Halp!
The Ikea Besta TV stand shown here was actually three sections. We removed the third section to free up floor space. But because of that, we had to remove the sliding door hiding the junk inside too. I know it’s a mistake. So fret not, we brought back the third section with the sliding door so those gadgets are out of sight. Now the lidded baskets were moved to the other side to accommodate the longer TV stand. How I wish I can get this one instead.
So that’s about it for today. What do you guys think? I hope you got inspired to update your living room too. And if you have any suggestions, drop them in the comments below. Stay tuned for more home decor updates!
